What is RS|Flash Fiber Service?
RS|Flash Fiber Service is a high-speed, fiber-based data transport
service that uses shared fiber-optic transport
facilities to transport. With Fiber connectivity Rapid Systems can
now offer speed packages from 5 Mbps to 30 Mbps. You’ll
do everything online only FASTER! You’ll have the extra
power you need to buy and download digital movies,
utilize Voice over IP, experience video chat and play
multiplayer games with awesome resolution. Enjoy a
gaming experience like you are sitting right next to the
other people!
How high-speed is
it?
The following service levels are available:
5Mbps/2Mbps, 15Mbps/2Mbps, 5Mbps/5Mbps and
30Mbps/5Mbps
How is it installed
into my home or business?

Quick Start: |
1.Rapid Systems runs the qualification test.
2.Client meets the Telco Fiber Optic Technician
for installation of the Optical Network
Interface - this date is preset and the location
of installation is near the existing
network/phone demarc.
3.Rapid Systems Technician installs
a router to the Optical Network Interface (ONI)
and sets up computer. |
All installations will require someone
to be at the premise to install the Optical Network
Terminal. The Optical Network Terminal
will only be installed at one location inside of the
home or business and this location must be located
near an electrical outlet.
The Fiber Optic cable will terminate into an Optical
Network Terminal which will have an 100 Megabit
Ethernet Jack on it. This is where your home
network will connect to the Rapid Systems Network. The
Optical Network Terminal is setup in the
garage or network room/closet depending on the side
of the house that the power meter and phone equipment
is located. The battery pack must be within 50 feet
of the ONT and near a power supply inside of the home.
The next step is to either have a wireless router to
connect to the computers in the home or install a wired
router and run wires into the home for installation. Rapid
Systems is providing wired and wireless packages as
stated below.
Do I need a modem
or any other equipment?
No modem! The connection is ran into the one
room in the home or business. The only other
equipment needed is a router. You can supply
your own or purchase one through
Rapid Systems.
Do I still get 5 email accounts?
Yes!
